Today’s cigar is the Quintero Belicoso with the maduro wrapper. These box-pressed smokes are a re-creation of an old Cuban brand, which was brought back to market in 2006. A little fuller in body than other cigars, the Quintero smokes are toasty and spicy in flavor. Because they haven’t been around for too long, there aren’t many reviews out there for these smokes, so pick up a fiver and let your fellow brothers and sisters of the leaf know what you think.

CAO Gold Maduro combines the same aged Nicaraguan long-filler and binder combination as its predecessor, but seals the deal with a dark Brazilian maduro wrapper. The result is a creamy, almost buttery array of chewy and toasty flavors. Subtle spices linger after each puff, complementing the deep, rich nuances and natural sweetness of the wrapper leaf quite nicely.
